City USA makes front page of The Journal Standard May 29, 2006 FREEPORT - Onlookers lining city streets endured sultry temperatures Monday to observe the annual Memorial Day parade as it twisted through the heart of downtown Freeport. And in this, the fourth year of war in Iraq, several soldiers from that theater of battle were in attendance. Army veteran Brian Meyers, who returned from a one-year tour in Iraq this January, appreciated the citizens' presence and patriotism. |
